ABOUT – Indiana Fiber Network (IFN)
Indiana Fiber Network, LLC (IFN) was formed in March of 2002 to provide state-of-the-art technology services to its Independent telephone-company member/owners. These services included: fiber transport utilizing DWDM and SONET technologies deployed over 4,500 route miles of fiber optic cable across the state of Indiana; SS7; robust Internet; redundant fiber rings.
Initially, IFN’s focus was about serving the telephony needs of 20 independent local telephone companies across the state of Indiana. These companies, which own IFN, have an average existence of over 100 years making IFN extremely stable financially and technologically. Due to the importance of the connectivity, a 99.999% network up time was critical to the owners of IFN.
In the years since inception, IFN’s reputation for service excellence has propelled it far beyond service to its initial member-owners into leadership in the highly competitive open marketplace of large enterprise customers, national carriers, and international carriers. We have multiple POPs (including the Indianapolis Henry Street Complex and 350 Cermak in Chicago) to provide redundancy and diversity for our product lines. IFN provides access transport, capacity leasing, special access, ISP backbone transport and services, SS7 “A” link consolidation, along with other data, voice, and video services.
IFN is acknowledged as a leader in the Healthcare environment, hosting the Indiana Rural Health Association (IRHA) shared platform for the Indiana Telehealth Network (ITN) in our data center at Henry Street. We provide connectivity to rural/urban hospitals and clinics for high-speed imaging, electronic medical record applications, and other technical data requirements via a secure data network.
IFN also provides fiber transport to many of the larger educational campuses where high speed and secure connections are required for distance-learning initiatives and administrative links.
IFN is the leading fiber provider.
