Understanding INDATEL’s Content Delivery Network (CDN)
INDATEL’s ‘network of networks’ is an ever-growing and evolving group of wholesale carriers dedicated to providing best-in-class, cost-effective transport connectivity via fiber optic routes in underserved rural and metropolitan markets. INDATEL is very well anchored with its members, other carriers, CDN providers and Transit IP service providers to deliver a rich mix of Internet data aggregation services. INDATEL has provided CDN Peering Services and Transit IP aggregation services for its members since 2010, and has deployed CDN Peering Aggregation POPs at Chicago and Dallas, with extensions to POPs in Minneapolis and Denver. The group is also peered with major CDN providers such as Google®, Akamai®, Limelight®, Facebook® and Netflix®, and peered at the Equinix® Internet Business eXchange (IBX) in both Chicago and Dallas. The Equinix IBX provides access to many other CDN providers such as Amazon®, Microsoft®, Edgecast®, etc.
Since most small ISPs do not generate enough Internet traffic from CDN providers to justify the provision of a dedicated peering trunk/port, INDATEL aggregates the demand from its members (estimated to be three million users). This power of scale justifies the CDN provider’s cost to establish a peering trunk/port with INDATEL.
INDATEL is a team of wholesale carriers dedicated to providing best-in-class, cost-effective transport connectivity via fiber optic network routes in rural and metropolitan areas. Between our members, who are primarily made up of independent rural telecom service providers, we are able to deliver reliable bandwidth solutions in rural and underserved markets. INDATEL and its members are uniquely positioned to provide telecommunication connectivity to many places other providers cannot. To learn more about INDATEL, please visit www.INDATEL.com
